My family is a zoo - metaphor poem

My family is a zoo.

Mum is a giraffe, because she is always looking after people.

Dad is the lion because he loves to talk.

Oscar is the monkey because he makes people laugh

and I am the dolphin because I love to swim.

Symmetrical insects

In Room4 we have been learning about symmetrical insects. We had to draw our insects on  one side and the traced it on  the other side.

                                                         Honey crumble 

100g butter 

125g sugar

1 Tablespoon honey

4/5 cups rice bubbles.

First melt the butter, sugar and honey. Bring to the boil. Grease your tray. Mix in 4/5 cups of rice bubbles. And at the end put it in the fridge.

I was so hurt

Bang arr. My hard bounced back like a kangaroo. Blood was pouring out of my hard. I got whacked by a big hard cricket ball and it was solid. Tears were dripping out out of my big red eyes. I looked up and people's eyes were  staring at me. I rock back and forth. I said to myself ‘I am so dizzy. ‘I was in the tennis court with room 7 3 years ago. The next morning I woke up and I had a black eye. Above my big black eye I had a circle shape on my heard. It was the cricket ball. That really hurt. I got to school and everyone was asking me “What happened   “What happened    “What happened. It hurt so bad that i had to go home with dad. 2 weeks later I woke up and it was finally gone. I said “Thank God , that’s gone away.”

    Today we had a mufti  day to support the all blacks. All black are the best team in the world.
                                      

I was sick

Yuck . I can smell the terrible smell the came out when you are sick. 1 minute I am hot then 2 minute  later I am clod. My tummy is rumbling because it is hungry. Then my face was green. And  I do a spur. My body is sweating later Is It shivering. Now this minute I am hungry but if I eat I will spur up again. I was exhausted from a night of sickness. After that I spur up 3 times. YUCK. Not long after I did 2 more spurs. Now my tummy is sour my throat is sour and my ear is sour. I do not  like  spurring.

I was so scared.

“Shh,” said the lady. “OK we have to whisper when we are in the the museum at night.”  As I tip-toed  through the pitch black room I was trying to feel where I was going. Next, I went up the stairs. I walked into the animal attic. We sat down with the Lawrence lions and then  I heard monkeys screaming and lions growling and much more. Then half of the children started to cry. I was trying to feel who was beside me. It was Imogen. In the end Danny rushed out looking like a zombie. Everybody ran to the light to see who it was. I was scared that night.

I was so mad.

Kicking, screaming, yelling, and a red face like a beetroot.The day I was this mad was because I wanted to go to town but Oscar was sick. He was throwing up everywhere and he was crying. I was extremely mad this DAY. Mum said that next time we go to town we can go to the swimming pool. Because of that I ran into my bedroom and slammed my door and I started punching my pillow like you would not believe. My firsts were clenched and  I stomped my feet. After I burst into tears. Finally I went out of my bedroom and said sorry to Mum.  

My birthday memory.

I can smell the pancakes cooking in the frying pan. It is my 7th  birthday. I begin to tear open my birthday presents. My hands are waving through the air. My eyes are open really wide. One of my presents is a pink sparkly new bike. I love it so much I start riding it inside. And then I have a chocolate mud cake with m&ms on it. Then everyone sings happy birthday to me.

A special visitor

Nikau  is 8 Weeks old he is a chocolate lab. Sometimes he can be a bit crazy. This is Nikau first time at school. He loves  to play outside.

Father day poem

A Dad is someone who wants to catch you before you fall but instead picks you up, brushes you off and lets you try again.

A Dad is someone who wants to keep you from making  mistakes, but instead lets you find your own way even though his heart breaks in silence when you get hurt.

A Dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed and has faith in you even when you fail…

I think we should not change the flag - charlotte

I think we should not change the flag.

Do you want to change the flag? Well I think we should not.

The soldiers fought under the flag. They even sacrificed their lives for that flag. It would be so disappointing for the soldiers if we change the flag.

The ancestors made the flag. If we  change the flag the ancestors would be angry. And it is changing our history.

If we change the flag it cost to much money. They have spent 26 million dollars trying to change the flag. With the 26 million dollars that they have speed we could give the money to poor people out there that   can’t pay for  food our live in a house. The 26 million dollars is just the starting it is going to cost more.

If we change the flag we will have to change   it every where in the world. In books computer and lots lots more. And it is going to cost more money to go every where in the world and just change it. I think we should not change the flag.

Well i think it should stay the same way it is  and I think i am right. We will have to change the new Zealand flag EVERYWHERE.  

Spud Gun Fun

On Friday 28/8/15  we  had a visitor in our class room. Her name was miss skiving. She is a scientist. We had lost of fun with her. We made a spud gen with her.

Chores - persuasive writing

I think kids should do chores

Doing the dishes,Vacuuming the floor and looking after the animals. These are all the thing that kids have to do. Kids get asked to do jobs every day after school. They don't always like it sometimes it’s boring, but children should do chores.

Children should do chores because it is helpful to their parents. If Children do their jobs then the parents don’t have to do everything. When parent don’t have to do all of the jobs they have more time to play with there kids.

If you do chores maybe they will get money. Kids that don’t do chores they will not get money. With the money that you get for the shoes you could go to the shop and get some treats. You see kids that don’t do chores they can’t go to the shop and get some treats.

If you do chores your family will be so happy. They might give you a big  snugly hug from your mum, dad, sister and your brother. Or you might just get some money.

Doing chores is teaching you to be responsible to yourself. When You live in a flat you can cook tea,make your bed, tidy your bedroom and wash your clothes. When you get older you learn more things.

Now do you get it I think children should do chores. And all those kids that don't do chores do chores.

My goals for term three are:

¨ To use a clear, loud voice with lots of expression (an interesting voice) when I present my speech to an audience and in the school production
